Reasonable Suspicion Training
September 30, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The Building Trades Employers’ Association (BTEA) and Massachusetts Construction Advancement Program (MCAP) will be offering contributing contractors Reasonable Suspicion Training for their employees. Modern Assistance Programs (MAP) is one of the premier employee assistance plans for the union trades in New England. Their instructors and clinicians utilize expertise in order to provide comprehensive reasonable suspicion training for supervisors.
The training will be used by the supervisors to determine whether reasonable suspicion exists to intervene with an employee who appears to be actively under the influence. The training includes the physical, behavioral, speech, and performance indicators of probable alcohol misuse and use of controlled substances.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
• Describe the regulations that apply to reasonable suspicion testing, including the alcohol and drug prohibitions
• Recognize the signs and symptoms of alcohol abuse and drug use and describe what to look for when determining reasonable suspicion
• Receive a certificate affirming they have passed a Reasonable Suspicion Course.
